Fondaco Tedeschi Rooftop Terrace, Venice
Fondaco Tedeschi Rooftop Terrace
Venice, Italy
A very popular rooftop terrace with great views
About
The Fondaco Tedeschi is a 13th century building, devastated by fire in the 15th century and rebuilt.
For a long time it was owned by the Italian Post Office but was sold to the Benneton group for its conversion into a shopping center. It opened in 2016.
For tourism, it’s a good shopping center, but more than that, it has one of the best rooftop terraces (free!) in Venice. You can only access it with a booking and slots get filled very quickly. For your chance to see the view it is best to book early (link below).
Access to the terrace is free but booking the visit is mandatory. The visit lasts a maximum of 15 minutes.

Fondaco Tedeschi Closure
The Fondaco dei Tedeschi is scheduled to close in the first half of 2025. The DFS Group, which manages the store, announced the closure in November 2024. The store’s lease ends in September 2025. The store is closing as part of a global restructuring by DFS Group.
We have no further news but will let you know when we do.
An alternative Venice rooftops terraces tour is listed here below.
