Fortuny Palace & Museum
Venice, Italy
Art museum in San Marco where Mariano Fortuny (1871–1949) had a studio in the late nineteenth century
History & Displays
This late Gothic Palace in Campo San Beneto is where Mariano Fortuny (1871–1949) had a studio in the late nineteenth century, and lived from 1902. The museum presents paintings, fabrics, and Fortuny’s lamps on the first floor, together with the history of the palazzo and its atelier on the second floor. The building still has features created by Fortuny.
The displays show his eclectic work and an insight into the intellectual and artistic scene at the turn of the 19th century.
