Gondola Traghetto
Across the Grand Canal in Venice
Taking a trip in a Public Transport Gondola Across the Grand Canal
If you would like to experience a gondola ride but don’t wish to spend 40 minutes in one, you can always take the gondola traghetto (gondola ferry).
This is a short trip over a canal. The traghetto is rowed by two gondaliers and it will cost you around €2.00.
There are various places in Venice where you can do this, the most popular ones are listed below.
Locals often stand on these gondolas, but there’s nothing wrong with sitting!
This is a fun activity but please bear in mind they’re used by Venice residents and workers and are not only a tourist activity.
