The 82nd Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia.

The film festival takes place in Lido di Venezia (Venice Lido) from the 27th of August to the 6th of September 2025

Venezia 82

International competition of up to 21 feature films presented as world premieres.

Venezia Spotlight

A maximum of 10 world premiere feature films, with a focus on works that address specific genres and current production, in competition for the Armani beauty Audience Award.

Out of Competition

Non-competitive selection of significant works of the year or a maximum of 20 titles,
plus films produced as part of the Biennale College Cinema programme, presented as world
premieres.

Venice Classics

Competition of up to 18 restorations of classic films and a selection of documentaries about cinema, in world premiere.

Orizzonti

International competition reserved for a maximum of 19 feature films and a selection of short films, dedicated to works representative of the latest aesthetic and expressive trends in international cinema, presented as world premieres.

Venice Immersive

Competition of up to 30 immersive projects in world or international premiere, accompanied, out of competition, by a Best of Immersive selection of the best works already distributed or presented elsewhere in the last year, and by projects developed within the Biennale College Cinema – Immersive programme.
