About
Located next to the Correr Museum and the Marciana Library in St Mark’s Square, the Museum holds a great collection of Greek and Roman sculptures, ceramics, coins and stones dating back as far as the 1st Century B.C.
On display are 270 pieces of marble artworks (statues, reliefs, Greek and Latin inscriptions), one hundred jewels, about 350 coins, 50 vases coming from different nations, 30 bronze statuettes and 2 mummies. There are also some Greek original artworks dating back to the 5th century BC.
Collections
The Museum boasts an extraordinary collection of Roman and Greek sculptures, as well a large number of ancient coins, marvellous gems and cameos, bronze artefacts, pottery, Egyptian and Assyrian-Babylonian antiques and prestigious findings from the Late Antiquity period
