History
Close to the Rialto Bridge, the Rialto Markets have been in existence since 1097.
The markets are an authentic Venetian experience – a place where many restaurant owner and locals come to buy fresh produce.
Typically you can find fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables from asparagus and artichokes to apples, oranges. In the fish market, prawns, crab, oysters, squid, octopus, swordfish, clams and local fresh fish of all varieties.
Tip
Arrive early for the best choice. There are also a number of local cafes around here – ideal for a morning cappuccino or espresso plus of course cicchetti with a glass of wine
