If you would like to experience a gondola ride but don’t wish to spend 40 minutes in one, you can always take the gondola traghetto (gondola ferry).
This is a short trip over a canal. The traghetto is rowed by two gondaliers and it will cost you around €2.00.
There are various places in Venice where you can do this, the most popular ones are listed below.
Locals often stand on these gondolas, but there’s nothing wrong with sitting!
