Rialto Markets
Venice, Italy
A genuine Venetian market experience where you can buy freshly caught fish along with fruit and vegetables
Rialto Markets History
Close to the Rialto Bridge, the Rialto Markets have been in existence since 1097.
The markets are where many of Venice’s restaurant owners, along with locals, come to buy the freshest produce available whether that’s freshly caught seafood or fresh vegetables.
Typically you can find fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables from asparagus and artichokes to apples and oranges.
In the fish market, prawns, crab, oysters, squid, octopus, swordfish, clams and local fresh fish of all varieties.
Arrive early for the best choice. There are also a number of local cafes around here – ideal for a morning cappuccino or espresso plus of course cicchetti with a glass of wine
