Rialto Markets History

Close to the Rialto Bridge, the Rialto Markets have been in existence since 1097.

The markets are an authentic Venetian experience – a place where many restaurant owner and locals come to buy fresh produce.

Typically you can find fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables from asparagus and artichokes to apples, oranges. In the fish market, prawns, crab, oysters, squid, octopus, swordfish, clams and local fresh fish of all varieties.

The fruit & vegetable market is open from Monday to Saturday from 7:30am to 1pm.
The Rialto fish market is open from Tuesday to Saturday 7:30am-1pm.
